ASSISTANT DEAN OF GRADUATE STUDIES
ASSOCIATE DEAN, STUDENT AND RESEARCH AFFAIRS, COLLEGE OF MEDICINE
ASSISTANT EXECUTIVE VICE CHANCELLOR-UNIVERSITY OMBUDSMAN

RE: Redelegation of Authority - Determine Effective Date of Withdrawal in Extenuating Circumstances as Applicable to Student Fee Refunds

A student's date of withdrawal from the University, as related to the fee refund schedule, shall be the date on which the official Cancellation/Withdrawal Form is filed with the University.

The authority to make exceptions to this policy was delegated to Chancellors by Presidential Delegation of Authority DA 0426, July 6, 1973. I am redelegating the authority to the Assistant Executive Vice Chancellor-University Ombudsman for undergraduate students, the Assistant Dean of Graduate Studies for graduate students, and the Associate Dean, Student and Research Affairs for medical students in cases involving extenuating circumstances such as, but not limited to, illness or emergency, to determine the effective date of withdrawal subject to justification which shall be fully documented in writing and affixed to the Cancellation/Withdrawal Form.

This authority may not be redelegated further and supersedes the August 15, 1986 delegation of authority from Chancellor Peltason on the same subject.
