RE: Redelegation of Authority - Controlled Substances Program: Program Administration
Business and Finance Bulletin BUS-50, Controlled Substances Program, assigns each Chancellor responsibility for providing resources to effectively administer a Controlled Substances Program and for designating a Responsible Official to establish and oversee the Program.
As the Responsible Official designated February 8, 2010 in IDA 476, I am authorizing the Director, Environmental Health & Safety to implement and manage UC Irvine's Controlled Substances Program in accordance with DEA regulations and best practices, and UC Business and Finance Bulletin, BUS-50, Controlled Substances Program.
The Director, Materiel & Risk Management, and the Senior Pharmacy Director, UC Irvine Medical Center, or designee, will be responsible for procuring controlled substances and listed and precursor chemicals for Authorized University Activities in compliance with DEA registrations, UCI’s Controlled Substances Program, and UCI campus and medical center policies.
