November 14, 2016
VICE CHANCELLOR FOR HEALTH AFFAIRS
ASSOCIATE VICE CHANCELLOR OF ADMINISTRATION–HEALTH AFFAIRS
RE: Health Sciences Affiliation Agreements and Health Sciences Programs - Authority to Execute Agreements
Presidential delegation of authority DA 0916 sets forth Chancellors' authority to execute affiliation agreements with other institutions or hospitals which do not involve direct financial obligation or commitment on the part of the University. I am redelegating that authority as follows:
A. HEALTH SCIENCES AFFILIATION AGREEMENTS
The Vice Chancellor for Health Affairs and the Associate Vice Chancellor of Administration–Health Affairs, are redelegated the authority to approve and execute affiliation agreements (as defined in Sec. 700-32: Health Sciences Affiliation Agreements and Health Sciences Programs Approval Procedures) with other institutions and hospitals, as long as the agreement conforms to the requirements of Sec. 700-32.
B. HEALTH SCIENCES PROGRAMS
If a health sciences program (as defined in Sec. 700-32) will involve an agreement or contract with a non-University of California school or agency, and if the program and agreement or contract have received the approvals described in Sec. 700-32, the Vice Chancellor for Health Affairs and the Associate Vice Chancellor of Administration–Health Affairs, are redelegated the authority to approve the agreement. The Vice Chancellor for Health Affairs and the Associate Vice Chancellor of Administration–Health Affairs will refer to Chief Health Sciences Counsel any proposed modifications of the standard agreement form for the health sciences clinical experience program, and will recommend for referral to The Regents any proposed agreements or contracts requiring Regents' action.
This authority may not be further redelegated and supersedes the November 12, 2009 delegation of authority on the same subject, IDA 490.
