RE: Delegation of Authority - Outplacement Services (Service Agreements)

The authority to execute service agreements was delegated to Chancellors by Presidential Delegation of Authority DA 1058, December 30, 1991, and redelegated to the Director, UCI Medical Center by Irvine Delegation of Authority IDA 250, May 18, 1998 [superseded by IDA348 2/13/02; IDA435 12/3/07]. I am redelegating to the Deputy Director, Clinical Affairs the authority to execute agreements with agencies and other organizations outside the University to provide outplacement services when they judge the best interests of the University are served. This includes the authority to provide outplacement services, on an as-needed basis, to eligible individuals who leave University employment.

All agreements must be approved as to legal form by the General Counsel prior to execution unless previously approved by that office and issued without revision. One fully executed copy of all agreements must be sent to the Accounting Office, Materiel Management, and Risk Management.

This authority may be redelegated to one deputy administrator who reports directly to the Assistant Director. Any redelegation of this authority should be in writing with a copy to me and those listed below.

This delegation supersedes Chancellor Peltason's September 25, 1990 delegation of authority to the Assistant Director-Human Resources on the same subject.
