RE: Redelegation of Authority - Acquisition and Use of Controlled Substances

The authority to sign all forms and documents required by the U.S. Department of Justice, Drug Enforcement Administration, in connection with the acquisition and use of Controlled Substances, was delegated to Chancellors by Presidential Delegation of Authority DA 0378, August 14, 1972. I am redelegating that authority to the campus and UCI Medical Center Materiel Managers. It may not be redelegated further.

The Associate Vice Chancellor-Administrative and Business Services is hereby designated as the certifying official on the Chancellor's immediate staff to sign required documents in connection with the acquisition and use of Controlled Substances on campus. At UCI Medical Center, the Deputy Director-Clinical Affairs, is designated to serve in the same capacity. This authority may not be redelegated.

This letter supersedes the Chancellor Wilkening's July 21, 1995 redelegation on the same subject (IDA015).
