RE: Redelegation of Authority - Serving of Alcoholic Beverages

The authority to approve the serving of alcoholic beverages at events sponsored by Administrative & Business Services units has been delegated to me, June 29, 1999 [superseded by IDA 443, October 5, 2007]. I am delegating to the Associate Vice Chancellor, my deputy administrator, authority to approve the serving of wine and malt beverages at events sponsored in these units.

Approval to serve wine and malt beverages must be obtained on a Permit to Serve Alcoholic Beverages on Campus form prior to the date of the event, and shall be in accordance with University and campus policies and procedures as set forth in the attached campus Policy on Consumption of Alcoholic Beverages (UCI Administrative Policies and Procedures, Section 900-13.)

The attached policy is incorporated into this redelegation of authority and any administrator delegated this authority will be held responsible for its proper application.

This authority may not be redelegated further, and supersedes my July 19, 1999, delegation of authority on the same subject, IDA 293.
