RE: Redelegation of Authority - Execution of Service Agreements

The authority to execute service agreements required with outside organizations, agencies, and individuals to implement approved programs and activities, whether the University is the supplier or recipient of the service covered by the agreement, was delegated to Chancellors by Presidential Delegation of Authority DA 1058, December 30, 1991, and redelegated to the Director, UCI Medical Center and Dean, College of Medicine by Irvine Delegation of Authority IDA348 2/13/02 [superseded by IDA 435 12/3/07; IDA 491 11/12/09].

The Vice President of Contracting and Network Development, UCI Medical Center, is delegated the authority to negotiate all provider contracts, hospital service agreements, physician service agreements, third-party payor agreements, and similar documents covering both the facility and UC Irvine physicians.

All agreements under this delegation must be executed in accordance with the applicable University and campus policies and procedures governing the particular transaction. All agreements must be approved as to legal form by the either Campus Counsel or General Counsel prior to execution.

This letter supersedes the February 9, 1996 delegation of authority from Director Mark R. Laret, IDA 223, and renders the April 1, 1994 delegation from Chancellor Wilkening, IDA 055, obsolete.

This authority may not be redelegated further.
