UC IRVINE DELEGATION OF AUTHORITY |
IDA 459
August 19, 2008
DIRECTOR, MATERIEL AND RISK MANAGEMENT
RE: Redelegation of Authority - Agreements for Student Health Insurance Coverage (Service Agreements)
The authority to execute service agreements was delegated to Chancellors by Presidential Delegation of Authority DA 1058, December 30, 1991, and redelegated to the Associate Vice Chancellor-Administrative and Business Services by Irvine Delegation of Authority IDA435, December 3, 2007 [superseded by IDA 491 11/12/09]. I am redelegating to the Director, Materiel and Risk Manager the authority to negotiate and execute agreements for student health insurance coverage for:
Agreements involving undergraduate health insurance services should be coordinated with the Director of Student Health Services and the Vice Chancellor-Student Affairs, or their representatives, prior to execution.
Agreements involving the Graduate Student Health Insurance Program (GSHIP) should be coordinated with the Dean of the Graduate Division, or their representative, prior to execution.
Agreements involving health insurance services for interns, residents, and clinical fellows should be coordinated with the Vice Chancellor-Health Affairs and the Chief Executive Officer-UC Irvine Medical Center, or their representatives, prior to execution.
All agreements must be approved as to legal form by General Counsel prior to execution unless previously approved by that office and issued without revision. One fully executed copy of all agreements must be sent to the campus Accounting Office and one fully executed copy must be retained by Materiel and Risk Management.
This authority may not be redelegated further and supersedes the September 4, 1998, delegation of authority from Associate Vice Chancellor Lier on the same subject (IDA 269).

Associate Vice Chancellor
