Presidential and Regent's Policies

University of California

Universitywide Policy Office (UPO), at the Office of the President of the University of California, is the office of record for Presidential Policies and Presidential Delegations of Authority. This office reviews a policy prior to issuance by the President, while the General Counsel of The Regents is responsible for legal review. Presidential policies (also called administrative policies) customarily set forth courses of action, provide administrative direction, and promulgate regulations or processes that are applicable Universitywide. Presidential policies may be issued in the form of letters, statements, delegations of authority, or as policy manuals.

The Regents of the University of California
Bylaws and Standing Orders of The Regents of the University of California were adopted by The Regents on April 18, 1969. This edition includes amendments adopted up to and including March 14, 2001. Issued by the Office of the Secretary of The Regents.

Policies of The Regents
The policies adopted by the Board of Regents that pertain to the governance of the University of California outside the purview of its Bylaws and Standing Orders. Included are those policies of general interest and most frequently requested. Issued by the Office of the Secretary of The Regents.
